The Device Cannot be Found Error when Software is Started

Detail: when the software is loading, there is an error message that “the device cannot be found


Cause: the most common cause is that BIORez Meta host unit is not powered on. This error can also occur if the USB key is not connected and detected by the USB port. Computer power issues can also be responsible for this failure to connect. A missing or malfunctioning device driver might be causing the connection failure. A missing or malfunctioning security key driver might be causing the connection failure as well.


Solution:

Follow these steps sequentially if the issue persists.

  1. Check that your connections to the device are correct, the power button is depressed and the green power light is illuminated. It is possible that the USB cable has a loose connection or is faulty. Replace it with one of equivalent specification. If the device is brand new, this is not likely the cause.

  2. Check that the security key is connected and illuminated.

  3. Try installing an externally powered USB hub to ensure a consistent voltage.

  4. Re-install the device driver.

  5. Re-install the security key driver.

  6. Open a support ticket on the web or by email ([email protected]).
