"the executable file is missing or has been removed" Fatal Error when Software is Started

Cause: can be caused by Anti-Virus (A/V) software that has quarantined the main executable file of the Biorez Meta software. The filename is "Biorez Meta.exe".

Solution:

  1. It is best to add the file 'Biorez Meta.exe' to the whitelist or exceptions list of your Anti-Virus software.

  2. Check in your A/V software quarantine to see if the file is there. If it is, restore it if possible.

  3. If you are unable to restore a quarantined file (or this error is caused by some other unknown reason), you may have to re-install the main software. You should not have to re-install the 4D portion (see below).

  4. You should backup your database each time you add data to the software. If you do not have a backup or would like to retain the current data, copy the Basedat directory (.../AppData/Roaming/BioRez Meta/basedat) somewhere else before you re-install the software.  Consult the User Manual and find the section Entitled "SAVING DATABASE" at the end of the manual for a detailed procedure.
  5. Next, re-install the Biorez Meta Main Software. Consult the User Manual and find the section Entitled "HOW TO UPDATE THE BIOREZ SOFTWARE" at the end of the manual for a detailed procedure.  Do not uninstall the 4D Software.

  6. Replace (copy) the folder Basedat (created by the installation) with the folder you copied earlier (optional).

  7. Check for 4D functionality.

    1. Run the software.

    2. Select the default test card

    3. Go to the Research page

    4. Check the 4D box

    5. Verify that there are 3D animations of the organs

  8. If there is no 4D functionality, follow the appropriate User Manual and install the “Biorez Meta 4D” module. Check again.

  9. If you are still experiencing problems, open a support ticket on the web or by email ([email protected]).
